A very Brady Drag Race

Original cast members from The Brady Bunch will step into RuPaul's world.

It will a pop culture implosion when original cast members from The Brady Bunch step into RuPaul’s world.

Barry Williams, Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland, Eve Plumb and Susan Olsen will appear in the special, although Williams will play dad Mike Brady (ok that’s just weird city).

Dragging the Classics: The Brady Bunch will be a remake of the Drag Race‘s own episode “Will the Real Jan Brady Please Stand Up?” using new technology to transport the cast into the original Brady house.

They will be joined by All-Stars 5 winner Shea Couleé as Marcia Brady, Bianca Del Rio as Carol Brady, BenDeLaCreme stepping out of drag to play Greg Brady, All-Stars 6 contestant Kylie Sonique Love as Jan Brady, season 13’s Kandy Muse as Cindy Brady, and season 11 Miss Congeniality Nina West as Alice.

Judges RuPaul and Michelle Visage will co-star as new characters named “The Wig Attendant” and “Helen,” respectively.

The episode airs in the US next week but it isn’t clear if it will air in Australia via Stan or later on Paramount+  when it launches in August.

  1. Blackface has been rubbed out of culture, so why hasn’t drag? Blackface was white people parodying black people, drag is men parodying women. Two sides of the same coin.

    1. Hi Lawrence, this is not the best insight to what drag represents, whether for drag queens or drag kings. Drag is more about expressing identity, revealing an aspect of self. Drag Race has a lot of participants who talk about the oppression and discrimination they were subjected to before reclaiming their voice via drag performance. You can google for more on drag history and individual stories if it interests.
