Returning: Big Mob Brekky

NITV's Shahni Wellington and Ryan Liddle are joined by Tyrone Pynor.

Australia’s only all-Indigenous television breakfast show Big Mob Brekky returns for NAIDOC Week.

After debuting in 2020 with Shahni Wellington and Ryan Liddle it returns in studio with newly appointed Triple J Weekend Lunch presenter Tyrone Pynor.

The newest presenter for Getaway Matty Mills will be bringing Hollywood to the studio as the Big Mob Brekky Entertainment Reporter, the hilarious Steph Tisdell will be providing a daily dose of comedy, Gabriel ‘Bush Tucker Bunjie’ Willie will have one eye on the sky as Weather Reporter, gaming and tech expert Rae Johnston will be popping by to bring expert opinions to daily panels, NRL star Dean Widders will keep audiences updated on the sporting world while the legendary Mark Olive will be getting stomachs rumbling with daily cooking segments.

If that doesn’t tantalise those taste buds – there’s more!

The panel will again check in with First Nations media partners across Australia to see what’s happening in their patches, there will be Indigenous tourism information from on Country with Bianca Hunt and, crucially, the team will have their fingers on the pulse with the most updated news as the country deals with another outbreak of the COVID-19.

And, if you’re lucky, you could even see some of our top First Nations talent performing some of their smash hits Live.

7:30am Monday 5 July to Friday 9 July on NITV / SBS.

  1. An indigenous themed breakfast news or entertainment show would be a great addition for a permanent stint. I hope that this being the second NAIDOC Week it has been on, will be the trial that can ensure permanency. It would be good progress and may also provide a reasonably good alternative to ABC News Breakfast, Today, Sunrise or Studio 10 in the particular timeslots.

    1. Received miniscule ratings on NITV (as almost all stuff does there)-being repeated on SBS2 at midday, which is not really ‘breakfast’.
