Airdate: William Tyrrell: Little Boy Lost

Peter Stefanovic presents a SKY News examination, nearly 7 years after disappearance of NSW toddler.

Peter Stefanovic will present a 30-minute special investigation, William Tyrrell: Little Boy Lost, in which he speaks with those at the heart of the case of missing toddler.

Former homicide detective Gary Jubelin (Under Investigation) also participates.

William Tyrrell was just 3 years old when he went missing from Kendall, New South Wales, in September 2014. The case remains unsolved.

Peter Stefanovic said: “It’s a disappearance that continues to mystify. Seven years on and there are still so many questions that remain unanswered. With the help of Gary Jubelin, we go back to the early parts of the investigation and revisit what went wrong. We cover the suspects, the missteps, and where to next.”

As previously revealed, Seven is also planning a 2 part special under its Spotlight banner.

It has been nearly seven years since William Tyrrell was last seen. The little boy in the spider man suit was playing in his foster grandmother’s backyard in Kendall in Northern NSW on September 12, 2014 with his older sister. Just before 10.30am, William ran around the side of the house. He has never been seen again.

Police initially treated it as a missing person’s case, but it quickly became a homicide investigation. Since then, police have identified more than 600 persons of interest and offered a $1 million reward, the biggest in NSW history. In the coming months, findings from the Coronial Inquest into what happened to then three-year-old William will be handed down.

In her first television interview since the Coronial Inquest, Peter speaks exclusively to William’s biological mother about the circumstances that led to William being in foster care, her experience on that devastating day he went missing, and the hurt and anger she endures daily as his case remains unsolved.

During the special, Peter also hears from former homicide detective Gary Jubelin and discusses William’s disappearance with Bruce and Denise Morcombe, parents of abducted teenager Daniel Morcombe whose body was recovered eight years after he went missing following an extensive police operation.

Sky News also shares William’s sister’s statement from the Coronial Inquest where she implores police to find her brother. William’s sister, who was four years-old when he disappeared, states her intention to become a police detective as soon as she can to ensure her brother’s case is solved once and for all.

8pm Sunday 18 July on SKY News.

  1. I feel for this little boys family. No one ever said what they know about the blonde woman and the man in the car he was thought to have be seen in. Was it investigated by finding these two people?

  2. Now undoubtedly one of Australia’s biggest unsolved cases up there with Azaria Chamberlain …well at least one person knows exactly what happened to the little boy, and if he/she told anyone else there must be some major incentive to come forward … in these shocking cases why not raise the reward to 10 million dollars to flush out some information ?
