Farmer Wants a Wife tops Sunday entertainment
Farmer makes a strong debut, defeating Ninja & MasterChef. Nine wins Sunday.

Farmer Wants a Wife has topped entertainment shows on Sunday at an impressive 820,000 metro viewers.
That’s down on 2020’s premiere of 985,000 when it went up against Ninja‘s launch.
Now it lands ahead of an Australian Ninja Warrior semi final (724,000), then MasterChef Australia (633,000 from 7:30pm) and Grand Designs (505,000 from 7:40pm).
Later 60 Minutes was 498,000 then Jack Irish (425,000) and Crime Investigation Australia: Most Infamous (313,000).
Nine network won Sunday with 28.5% then Seven 26.7%, 10 19.2%, ABC 14.8% and SBS 10.8%.
Nine News was 1.11m for Nine with a late edition at 291,000.
Seven News was #1 at 1.19m for Seven. The Real Manhunter drew 173,000.
The Sunday Project was 466,000 / 334,000 for 10. 10 News First was 330,000 / 294,000 then FBI (256,000 / 173,000).
ABC News pulled 663,000 for ABC. Compass (207,000) and Agatha Christie’s The Pale Horse (193,000) followed.
On SBS it was Treasures of Malta (248,000), Tour de France (200,000) and SBS World News (189,000 / 160,000).
A morning edition of ABC News also led multichannels at 209,000, with the biggest crowd in Sydney.

I really enjoyed Farmer Wants a Wife, it’s great to have it back. It was refreshing watching genuine people looking for love and not more Instagram followers. No duck lips and fake bits, okay maybe one or two, but the vast majority were very normal looking people, which was nice to see. Hopefully each farmer picks the right girl for him.
I think it’s ‘Crime Investigation Australia: Most Infamous’ (rather than famous)…
