Wentworth: trailer

Final season trailer for Wentworth packs a punch. Literally.

Foxtel has now released a full trailer for the final season of Wentworth, due in just 4 week’s time.

These scenes pack a punch (literally) and while I’m hanging out to see it, it again prompts the question… “why are we ending this one again?”

Starring Leah Purcell as Rita Connors, Pamela Rabe as Joan Ferguson, Kate Atkinson as Vera Bennett, Katrina Milosevic as Boomer, Robbie Magasiva as Will Jackson, Kate Jenkinson as Allie Novak, Bernard Curry as Jake Stewart, Rarriwuy Hick as Ruby Mitchell, Susie Porter as Marie Winter, Kate Box as Lou Kelly, Jane Hall as Ann Reynolds, Zoe Terakes as Reb Keane and Vivienne Awosoga as Judy Bryant.

Supporting cast includes David de Lautour as Dr Greg Miller and Jacquie Brennan as Linda Miles, with guest cast Marta Dusseldorp as Sheila Bausch.

Tuesday August 24 at 8.30pm on FOX Showcase.

Violence. Lots.

  1. I’m with you David… “why are we ending this again?” Is a sentiment a lot of people have been asking.

In all seriousness, with your ear always firmly to the ground… has there been a firm confirmation from the powers that be that this is indeed the actual final? Or are there any slight whispers (even the dullest breath of a hint!!!) that there will be more… even eventually… I mean… this can’t be it!
…Why are we ending this again?

      1. Ok. The campaign begins here then haha!
If Netflix want to continue to make a statement in Aus with Aus content, then picking up Wentworth would be a super intelligent and strategic way to do that… only thing is that I’m concerned another female prison drama so soon after OITNB finishing (even though Wentworth is exceedingly different in basically every way) might muddy the waters internationally…
There’s also the fact that I read an article recently that highlights just how much Netflix has reigned back on rescuing shows since they saved those few key shows back in the day… It’s been a long time. They had an unfair stigma for a while where people were bombarding them to save cancelled shows, and when they didn’t, it was Netflix’s fault those shows didn’t continue… so as a result they managed to pivot and re-strategise their business plan.
        Anyway… I digress… save Wentworth Netflix!!
