“Beyond bad” room but Block tops Sunday

Never mind the poor Room Reveal, the numbers that mattered were the best on Sunday.

It had a room drawing one of the lowest scores in its history but The Block hit #1 on Sunday, even surpassing news bulletins.

Josh & Luke’s disastrous 8 points helped draw in 1.1m viewers, a lift on last Sunday, and topped the demos.

That was as good as double Celebrity MasterChef (573,000), Restoration Australia (458,000), 7NEWS Spotlight (436,000) and Border Security (302,000).

That helped 60 Minutes to also won its slot at 585,000 then Nine News late edition (334,000), Fires (321,000) and Grace (240,000).

Nine network won Sunday with 36.4% then Seven 22.1%, 10 18.9%, ABC 14.7% and SBS 7.8%.

Seven News (922,000) was best for Seven, neck and neck with Nine News (919,000).

The Sunday Project drew 367,000 / 250,000 for 10. 10 News First was 259,000 / 209,000 then CSI Vegas (209,000) and FBI (133,000).

ABC News was 638,000 for ABC. Back Roads (218,000) and We Hunt Together (107,000) followed.

On SBS it was Inside Central Station (190,000), SBS World News (151,000 / 147,000), The Children in the Pictures (138,000) and Scotland: Rome’s Final Frontier (89,000).

Insiders led multichannels at 147,000 just on ABC News channel.

In Total TV lifts last Sunday were:
Fires: 742,000
FBI: 351,000
The Block: 1.8m
Inside Central Station: 267,000
7NEWS Spotlight: 1.05m

  1. None of the contestants on The Block have any respect for the judges opinions now. It’s not a very good look. I liked the boys up until what I saw of them last night. Totally not appropriate way to act, but the more drama the more viewers I guess.

    1. They have had contestants of that ilk before back in the old days before they improved the vetting process. I suspect they were chosen for their looks and social media following.
