Building a Bridge…

Checkout the trailer for the new reality series getting a local version in 2022.

Last week ViacomCBS announced a local version of The Bridge, a competition reality series coming to Paramount+ in 2022.

Filmed in Tasmania and based on the UK format (check out the trailer), the adventure series will see 12 Australians abandoned in the wilderness and forced to work together to build a 300-metre-long bridge in just 20 days.

With $250,000 prize on the line, they must work as a team – but only one of them will ultimately claim the cash.

Daniel Monaghan, Senior Vice President, Content and Programming, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, said: “The Bridge Australia is a fantastic series that we are thrilled to bring to the Australian market.

“Teaming up with Endemol Shine Australia will ensure this is the very definition of event television.”

Endemol Shine Australia CEO, Peter Newman, said: “Australians have a huge appetite for adventure and social game, and we couldn’t be more delighted to serve up this ground-breaking format.

The Bridge Australia is a physical and mental ordeal with an electrifying social experiment at its core… and an endgame unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. If there’s one show to binge on in 2022, it’s The Bridge Australia.

  1. Just finished the UK series..it was good, not great, but still sucked me in….6 episodes was perfect length….hope the Aussie version keeps to a short and sharp 6 episodes maximum too.
The innocence of some of the cast reminded me of season 1 of Big Brother

  2. Environmental damage in the Tassie wilderness for a TV show. Cool, wow, sounds great, this has hit written all over it.

Damn, spell check left an ‘S’ off.

    1. if you drive a car, use alot of plastic, buy non-organic foods, use non-renewable sources of electricity then its possible the contestants on this show are less “destructive” than you are.
