Aussie soaps a mainstay on quiet Tuesday

Home & Away topped Tuesday entertainment & Neighbours was best on multichannels.

Long running soaps were quiet achievers on Tuesday with Home & Away as the top entertainment show and Neighbours best on multichannels.

Home & Away drew 534,000 metro viewers for Seven.

The Dog House led its slot at 521,000 then Parental Guidance (478,000), 7:30 (474,000), Anh’s Brush with Fame (318,000), Big Brother: VIP (302,000) and Great Canadian Railway Journeys (217,000).

Later Travel Guides (471,000) led then The Cheap Seats (358,000) and Mystify: Michael Hutchence (236,000)

Nine network won Tuesday with 28.1% then Seven 26.9%, 10 20.0%, ABC 15.8% and SBS 9.1%.

Nine News (815,000 / 790,000) was best for Nine. A Current Affair won with 639,000 then Hot Seat (362,000 / 241,000). Love Island managed 180,000.

Seven News was #1 at 909,000 / 877,000.  The Chase was 457,000 / 281,000 with The Curse Of The Chippendales at just 127,000 / 111,000.

The Project pulled 394,000 / 241,000 for 10. 10 News First was 299,000 / 208,000 then NCIS: Los Angeles (127,000 / 71,000).

ABC News drew 611,000 for ABC. The Drum followed at 159,000.

On SBS it was New York Super Airport (160,000), SBS World News (144,000 / 122,000), and Egypt With The World’s Greatest Explorer (78,000).

Neighbours again led multichannels at 141,000.

News Breakfast: 118,000 / 76,000

Love Island: 585,000
Big Brother: VIP: 621,000
Going Country: 472,000
The Dog House: 894,000

  1. Nice to see our soap operas have still got it.

    I watched the finale of Parental Guidance last night. I know opinions on the show have been mixed but I’ve really enjoyed it. Congrats to the Free Range parents for winning. I’m glad the Tiger parents made the final though. Wasn’t keen on them at the start, but they grew on me and would not have minded at all if they won.
