Finding herself back home in Aotearoa (NZ) for the first time in years, Alexa (Lucy Lawless, Xena: Warrior Princess) can’t help herself when she is asked to look into a bizarre unsolved murder. And then – like an itch she can’t help scratching – Alexa quickly finds herself investigating other murder mysteries in surprising, glamourous worlds filled with intriguing characters who are hiding dangerous and deadly secrets.

And there’s no escape from her partner-in-crime-solving, Madison (Ebony Vagulans, Doctor Doctor), who promptly follows her mentor across the ditch when she suspects Alexa might be investigating without her. To Alexa’s chagrin, this means they are suddenly working more closely together than ever. Especially when Madison ends up living in Alexa’s new apartment. While she can’t quite escape old friends, Alexa also finds herself forging new connections. It’s not clear which of them is more surprised when she begins regularly working with charismatic Auckland homicide detective, Harry.
