Vale: James Ciseau

Former reality TV participant, who featured in 2019's Bride & Prejudice, has died.

Former reality TV participant James Ciseau, who featured in 2019’s Bride & Prejudice, has died aged just 36.

The Queensland pool builder died in a horrific head-on crash at Beerwah on Monday, remembered by family as a “brother bear and protector” with a heart of gold.

In 2019 he was portrayed as ‘bad boy’ James in the Seven reality series with the press kit noting, “Tori and James are from different worlds, but they are madly in love. Tori’s well-to-do mother Mary-Ann believes love isn’t enough and Tori can do far better than bad-boy James. Mary-Ann’s ideal son-in-law is a professional, not a tradie baring tats and wants her daughter to reconsider her marriage plans.”

It was instant attraction for Tori, when she met tradie James while he was working on a job across the street from her house. Prior to the series they had been together for 5 years and engaged for 2.

By the end of the series Mary-Ann turned up for a wedding for her daughter to James, with him noting, “Seeing Mary-Ann walking in there was absolutely massive. It’s the first step and maybe we can start getting somewhere.”

This week Tori wrote on Instagram, “I loved you at the start, I love you now and I will love you until the end.”

His sister Jacinta said he was a devoted father to young daughters, Olivia-Rose and Bella-Pearl.

“He was the most amazing father to those girls, they would look up to him so much,” she told news.com.au.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said  the cause of the “head on” crash was under investigation.
