First look at controversial series is transcendental twenty-somethings in search of nirvana, hotness and instant fame.

Netflix has released a trailer and announced a March premiere for its controversial reality series Byron Baes.

The series centres around young singles who gravitate to the northern NSW coastal town whilst pursuing social media profiles.

It promises, “fights, flings and heartbreak; but beneath every perfect post is a very real desire not just for ‘likes’ but to be liked.”

However the Eureka produced series was also disowned by the region’s council and many locals, objecting to how their town may be portrayed.

Meet this clique of trendy-hustlers, musicians, designers, spiritual healers, and artists who help each other grow their businesses, connections, and social followings. We go on separate journeys with newcomers, Jade and Sarah, as they move from the Gold Coast to ‘make it’ in Byron Bay – the Instagrammable epicenter of Australia’s counterculture.

Wednesday March 9 on Netflix.
