Barnaby Joyce has cancelled his appearance on Insiders on Sunday.
The Deputy Prime Minister was due to be interviewed by host David Speers, but today is at the centre of headlines around text messages in which he referred to the Prime Minister as a ‘hypocrite and a liar.’
He has since apologised for the texts and says he offered Scott Morrison his resignation.
Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews will now appear as Speers’ feature interview.
After Australia’s summer of discontent, the PM’s attempt to re-set the agenda was derailed by leaked texts. David Speers is joined on the panel by Karen Middleton, Andrew Probyn and Sarah Martin to discuss the week, plus COVID and the crisis in aged care.
9am Sunday on ABC.
Barnaby Joyce has pulled out of his scheduled appearance on Insiders tomorrow. I'll instead be joined by Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews. https://t.co/JNVT8qakTZ

Haha shows you how weak the current liberal/national party government are
Don’t like scrutiny
Oh dear, let it all end. My goodness, the election feels like ages away
Gee what a shock
Wow, talk about back stabbing. Both sides are coping it in one way or another.
Karen Andrews must have got the short straw I guess, how dare Barnaby deprive David Speers of his potential scoop.
