After delays due to the pandemic, Angela Bishop & Simon Bouda formally receive their honours from the GG.

After delays due to the pandemic, 10 Entertainment Editor Angela Bishop finally received her Medal of the Order of Australia at Government House yesterday.

Bishop was awarded an OAM for service to entertainment journalism last June.

Amongst the various causes she has supported are are Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation, Pink Ribbon Ball, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, GI Cancer Centre, Sydney Eisteddfod and Grace Centre for Newborn Care at the Children’s Hospital Westmead.

Bishop told Studio 10 today it was “…utterly, utterly humbling and overwhelming. The feeling that my husband and my dad and all those people were were somehow looking down, was really there. It was really hard to hold it together but I looked over to (daughter) Amelia and she gave me the biggest smile. It was so precious to have her there.”

Nine’s Simon Bouda also received his Member of the Order of Australia honour for significant service to the television and print media, and to the community.

Others who were honoured last June included Judi Farr, Chris Hemsworth, Peter Caroll, Leah Purcell, Mark Beretta (currently in Beijing), Peta Credlin, and cinematographer Russell Boyd.
