Kodi Smit-McPhee joins Apple series

Aussie Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Power of the Dog) will star alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in Apple TV+’s upcoming series Disclaimer.

Created by Alfonso Cuarón, and based on the novel of the same name by Renée Knight, sees Blanchett as Catherine Ravenscroft, a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions. When an intriguing novel written by a widower (Kline) appears on her bedside table, she is horrified to realise she is a key character in a story that she had hoped was long buried in the past, one that reveals her darkest secret.

Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly also in talks for a role.

Smit-McPhee landed his first Oscar, BAFTA, Critics’ Choice and SAG Award nominations and a Golden Globe, for Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog.

His Aussie credits include Gallipoli, The King, Romulus My Father and Dead Europe.
