  1. Was willing to give it a go as I love the UK version but oh dear. The show was way too long for this format, the laughter from the panel was forced, some looked uncomfortable, Chrissie interupted way too many times, Frank not very good on thinking on his feet, Ross did try to inject some laughs but others just did not contribute. I know it was only the 1st show and maybe it will improve but I’m out.

  2. Dreadfully slow pacing really killed Would I Lie to You, for me at least. This kind of show works best as a snappy half hour whiplashing the viewer from one round to the next. A similar example was Good News Week, tight and entertaining when a 30 minute ABC program and slow and dreary when an hour long on TEN.

    I imagine budgets have quite a bit to do with decisions about program duration but as a concept Would I Lie to You simply does not sustain that longer time slot.

  3. Well I was really looking forward to WILTY AU but I had to switch it off half way through. Maybe it just needs to gain momentum, but it just didn’t flow and the segments felt really dragged out. Hope it improves but I think the numbers will drop significantly after the initial interest for the local version.
