Shane Warne Memorial: Seven

"We are proud to broadcast this service commercial-free to all Australians," says Seven.

Seven has confirmed broadcasting details for the Shane Warne Memorial, screening Live, and commercial-free from 7.00pm AEDT on Wednesday, 30 March.

Coverage will begin immediately following Seven News, Live to the MCG in Melbourne in front of a 40,000 strong crowd.

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Network Head of Sport, Lewis Martin said: “Warnie was in so many ways just like all of us, the only difference was that he was one of the greatest cricketers of all time. We are proud to broadcast this service commercial-free to all Australians as we pay tribute to an incredible life and legend who gave so much to his sport and his country.”

  1. I hope I have phrased this to not be too disrespectful, but am I the only person in Australia who doesn’t have this high reverence for Shane Warne.

    I’m sure he’s important to the sport of cricket (something I have no interest in), I struggle to see him as this “Australian God” the media coverage is portraying him to be in his death.

    1. Media especially here always hold the nation’s “sporting heroes” in such high regard ,as you can see Ash Barty is now the star of that moment and I’m sure many others feel as you do and your entitled to an opinion like the rest of us.
