Sunrise shake-up continues behind the scenes

Seasoned supervising producer Monica Lepore has resigned from Seven following a shake-up of roles across its morning television suite.

The Daily Telegraph reports Lepore, who has been at Seven for 21 years, resigned just hours after new titles were appointed across Sunrise and The Morning Show.

In breakfast TV behind-the-scenes drama is synonymous with the genre (Apple TV even created Morning Wars in the USA). Locally there is press speculation as to whether Lepore was overlooked for the top Sunrise role following Michael Pell’s appointment as Senior Vice President, Entertainment Content, North America.

According to the report, Lepore has told colleagues she will now consider her options.
