UK drama from the writer of Doctor Foster will have its Free to Air premiere.

6 part UK drama Life will have its Free to Air premiere on ABC.

The series created by Mike Bartlett (Doctor Foster, Trauma, Press) explores the human capacity for connection in an increasingly splintered society.

It stars Adrian Lester (Hustle, Riviera, Undercover), Victoria Hamilton (Cobra, Mansfield Park, Toast), Alison Steadman (Gavin and Stacey, Life Is Sweet, Hold the Sunset).

This previously screened on Pay TV.

Manchester, England. The residents of a large suburban house go about their very different lives. The walls that divide their flats keep them apart. But life has a way of bringing people together. Like all ordinary lives, theirs are filled with the extraordinary. And as their stories begin to intersect, hidden secrets connect these characters in ways that could never have been anticipated.

9.30pm Sunday April 24 on ABC.

  1. It is actually a spin off of sorts of Doctor Foster, writen after Suranne Jones said no to S3, even though the show was highly popular in the UK. One of the stories is based around a minor character from Doctor Foster who left to start over, though you won’t pick that up unless you watched Doctor Foster carefully. Doctor Foster was supposedly a Greek Tragedy about a scorned women, but I found it more of a silly melodrama where the medical elements and characters were totally unconvincing. Life starts of very slowly with 4 fairly predictable soap opera stories set in a block of flats in Manchester. I didn’t make it to the end of episode 2, but a friend said it did get more interesting.
