Airdate: Rock Island Mysteries

A new teen comedy, filmed on the Gold Coast, to premiere on 10 Shake.

10 Shake premieres a new locally produced teen comedy, Rock Island Mysteries, next Monday.

The 20 part series, previously known by the working title Taylor’s Island, was produced at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast by Fremantle, for 10 and Nickelodeon.

The story follows Taylor Young, a girl who is fascinated by the phenomena surrounding a mysterious island, ever since her uncle’s disappearance.

The young cast includes Alexa Curtis, Noah Akhigbe, Inessa Tan, Ryan Yeates, Izellah Connelly, with adults Kimberley Joseph, Craig Horner, Monette Lee, Annabelle Stephenson, Lucas Linehan.

The series was created by Matthew Cooke, Vincent Lund and Michael Ford. Writers are Stephen Vagg, Sam Carroll, Alix Beane, David Hannam, Marisa Nathar, Natesha Somasundaram, Trent Roberts, Jessica Brookman and Hannah Samuel. Tenika Smith, Jovita O’Shaughnessy and Evan Clarry direct.

The series will then debut across Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand from June 2022 and broadcast to global audiences on Nickelodeon International later in the year.

Taylor and her group of friends are living what seems to be the perfect island life with sun-soaked beaches and jungle-like hinterlands. But underneath that perfect facade lies a hotbed of cryptic riddles, thrilling legends, and unexplainable mysteries waiting to be unravelled. Fuelled by her fascination with her Uncle Charlie’s disappearance five years earlier, Taylor is the determined leader in pursuit of the truth. Alongside Taylor, there’s Nori, a wisecracking rebel who’s got an answer for everything; Meesha, a toughas-nails sports nut who’s up for anything; Ellis, a hypochondriac who’s the brains of the group; and Taylor’s stepsister Lila, an aspiring vlogger who adores her older sister. With a determination to leave no stone unturned, the five best friends jump head first into a series of intriguing mysteries and nail-biting adventures through ancient caves, remote islands and eerie jungles.

5pm Monday May 2 on 10 and continues weekdays.
