Listen very carefully….
Classic British sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo is set to mark a 40th anniversary soon.
Broadcasters Channel 5 is making a retrospective about the show, with a string of cast members recording interviews.
Sue Hodge, who played waitress Mimi Labonq said, “I’ve been asked to be involved. It’s going to be a documentary about the show. It’s incredible that there is still so much interest in it after all these years.”
Surviving cast members also include Vicki Michelle (Yvette), Arthur Bostrom (Crabtree), Kirsten Cooke (Michelle of the Resistance), Robin Parkinson (Leclerc), Guy Siner (Lt.Gruber), Richard Gibson (Herr FLick), Kim Hartman (Helga), John D. Collins (Fairfax), Nicholas Frankau (Carstairs).
Created by David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd, the series ran for nine series between 1984 – 1992, including a Live tour to Australia.
“I should think half the country has the box set,” said Hodge. “When I watch the repeats on TV I realise I forget how funny and clever it all was.”

I look forward to seeing this. I had a fantastic evening at the live tour with my parents, who loved the show. From memory the cast was having as great a time as the audience.
I saw the live show in Melbourne in the late 1980s (I think Her Majesty’s Theatre) which had most of the television cast. Arguably the most hilarious production I have ever seen.
Sad to think that most of the key players are now gone including Gordon Kaye and Carmen Silvera.
I think you mean 30 years since it’s conclusion David.
The pilot actually first aired in the UK on 30 December 1982 (back when pilots were actually aired to decide if a series had enough legs to be produced). Scarily, that actually was 40 years ago.
And then they used that script another 84 times.
Okey dokes I didn’t know that.
