Veteran British actor Robin Parkinson best known for ‘Allo ‘Allo! has died, aged 92.
A statement issued on behalf of his family said: “Robin Parkinson, actor, known for ‘Allo ‘Allo! and as the voice of Button Moon, has died peacefully at the age of 92 with his wife and daughters by his side.”
Parkinson’s career spanned more than four decades across TV, film and theatre.
He played Monsieur Ernest Leclerc from seasons 7 to 9 of the series, replacing Jack Haig, and reprised his role for the West End and Australian stage productions in the 1990s.
He also had roles in Button Moon, Dad’s Army, The Many Wives of Patrick, Girls About Town, The Young Ones and Rising Damp.
