Miranda Hart has penned a fourth season of her hit UK sitcom Miranda, but the BBC is yet to commission the series.
Hart confirmed to local newspaper The Devon Life that she written a fourth series, adding: “A lot of lovely people have kept on asking for the return of Miranda so here we are and I hope everyone likes it.”
However Deadline reports the BBC has no current plans to commission the fourth season as yet.
The show, which revolves around the difficulties the lead character gets herself into, has won several BAFTAs and was a ratings hit for the BBC during its 2009-to-2013 run of three seasons.
There have since been several specials, the last one airing in 2015, and Hart has often teased a return for the show, which also stars Sally Phillips, Katy Wix and Tom Ellis.
Miranda screened in Australia on ABC.
And yes Twitter I look forward to all the “thank God for that” etc ! This just for the few that were excited. No need to tell me that you’re relieved 😂 pic.twitter.com/fNPr9onhog

Loved watching this show recently as it was played I think on 72 or 73 late at night last year, they stopped it at the end of season 3 however and didn’t show the two following specials which was a shame. Hoping they bring this back as was a good laugh and quirky.
I’m confused. Miranda herself says in her tweet that what was in the paper didn’t come from her. So she hasn’t written a fourth season.
I believe that’s around the question of whether 4th is commissioned by BBC.
Let’s hope they can get Tom Ellis back also
