Former Big Bang Theory stars Mayim Bialik and Jim Parsons are behind a US adaptation of British sitcom Miranda.
Carla, as it will be known Stateside, sees Bialik star as a woman who uses the money her parents set aside for her wedding to instead open a cat cafe, in Louisville, Kentucky.
The show, which has been given a series commitment, will be executive produced by Bialik and Parsons. The Big C creator Darlene Hunt will write and also executive produce.
“Carla is an unapologetically big, broad multi-cam with a strong female point-of-view, pushing the format in a way that will be distinctive,” said FOX president of entertainment Michael Thorn. “We think we have something truly special here.”
Miranda, starring Miranda Hart, ran from 2009 – 2013 and is planning a 10th anniversary special in November.

It seems this isn’t a direct remake of Miranda. It reads they are just using the concept. I actually think it will work. Plus it will find a audience for the cat café loving people LOL
Oh God, no.
But it worked because of Miranda. It’s literally in the title.
Yeah but Mayim just doesn’t roll off the tongue.
O dear I don,t see this ending well US remakes very rarely work, TV land is littered with them
