Returning: Hacks

Comedy series with Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder returns in mid-May.

Season 2 of Hacks will screen on Stan in less than a month, same day as the U.S.

Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder return, joined by Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Stalter, Angela E. Gibbs, Luenell, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki and Lorenza Izzo.

New recurring guest stars Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird), Martha Kelly (Euphoria), Ming-Na Wen (The Book of Boba Fett) and Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), plus guest stars Margaret Cho (The Flight Attendant) and Devon Sawa (Chucky).

Nominated for thirteen Emmy® Awards, Hacks explores the dark mentorship between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and a young, entitled writer named Ava (Hannah Einbinder). The eight-episode second season will pick up immediately after the events of the season one finale, with Deborah and Ava traveling across the country workshopping Deborah’s new stand-up act.

Jean Smart, an Emmy®, SAG Awards® and Critics Choice Awards winner for her performance in season one of the series, will return along with Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Hamilton) and Jane Adams (Messiah), who were all nominated for Emmys for the first season.

Hacks is created and showrun by Emmy® winners Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky. It is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Emmy® winners Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment and Morgan Sackett. The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
