2018 miniseries Waco, which screened in Australia on SBS, is getting a sequel.
American Tragedies: Waco – The Trials will explore the wide-ranging fallout following these events and the uneven scales of justice the surviving Branch Davidians faced. It will also delve into how the horrific events fueled the emerging ‘Patriot’ movement, which ultimately led to the most destructive act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history – the Oklahoma City bombing.
The series sees John Leguizamo reprising his role as Jacob Vasquez, an ATF agent who worked undercover during the lead up to Waco. Michael Shannon, an executive producer on the series, will also reprise his role as Gary Noesner, an FBI hostage negotiator who has PTSD from the failed negotiations with the Branch Davidians in Waco.
They are joined by David Costabile, J. Smith Cameron, Giovanni Ribisi, John Hoogenakker, Keean Johnson and Abbey Lee.
It is designed to air in 2023 to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the tragic events in Texas.
Yet to be confirmed but the series is likely to screen in Australia on Paramount+.

Do we really need to see another Waco drama. We need to get over it.
Will likely cover the Oklahoma City bombing by Timothy ‘Boom Boom’ McVey as Waco was one of his grievances against the US govt. Much less dramatization for that event around.
