10 introduces new sports broadcasting idea, NBL Sprint.

Full game on Peach -or three quarter highlights + Live fourth quarter on 10?

10 is taking a new approach to the NBL from Sunday, with a broadcasting first it has titled NBL Sprint.

On 10 Peach from 2.30pm this Sunday, viewers can watch the full match Live between Sydney Kings v Tasmania JackJumpers in Hobart.

But from 3:30pm on 10, NBL Sprint will show highlights of the first three quarters, and then go Live for the final quarter.

Adam Cush, Network 10’s Director of Sport, “Network 10 is always looking for ways to work with sporting bodies and our partners to innovate the viewer experience for live sport. It’s fantastic we can bring NBL Sprint to viewers on 10 this weekend.

“It’s exciting to try a new format and what better time than with one of the most highly anticipated NBL play-offs in the competition’s history, featuring the Sydney Kings and one of the greatest sporting stories in Australia currently in the Tasmania JackJumpers. We thank NBL for trusting us with this product, as well as the valued partners to bring this to life for free-to-air viewers.”

  1. For a final they should show the whole game. But Adams is out with a hamstring injury and Tasmania wouldn’t have had a chance if he was fit. So I won’t be watching anyway. For a lot of regular NBA games I skip the first half and just watch the second half. They play so many games that often the teams take it easy for the first half, conserving their energy and fouls, then try to get a lead in the 3rd Quarter. It would work there.

  2. So instead of a full game on 10HD we’re treated to a low bit rate 3/4 show then off to 10HD why not just show all of it there and not show the umpteenth repeat of MasterChef ,I’ll say it again this is a lemon 🍋 of a Network.

  3. This seems like a terrible idea. They’ll show highlights of the first 3 quarters on Peach anyway during the 3/4 time break. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just tune into Peach if you only wanted to watch the end.
