Lachie Gill has won The Voice 2022.
The 24-year-old Victorian representing Team Rita defeated Thando Sikwila, Jordan Tavita and Faith Sosene to take out the $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia.
“Oh my god! From the start, I just never, ever would have expected this. I’m just blown away. Thank you so much. Wow. Thank you,” he said.
Coach Rita Ora said: “You did all of this. Australia, thank you, thank you, I love you. I feel like this is just the beginning for you. Congratulations. I’m so happy for you I can’t breathe!”
ITV Studios Australia filmed alternate endings for the pre-recorded season with votes open until 8:20pm AEST.
While three powerhouse voices represented Teams Keith, Guy and Jess, viewers gave the win to the guitar playing former football player with the rock / pop sound.

Sure to turn up singing the National Anthem at the AFL Grand Final given his background.
I remember Dicko back in the Idol days talking about that to win shows like this, you needed to have ‘G-Force’ – that being to appeal to gays, girls and grannys. Hence the over representation of good looking young men who win I’d imagine.
I’m going to be a little harsh here. To be fair I didn’t watch any of The Voice so I have nothing to compare this guy to but I must be tone deaf. A rather mediocre voice and bland song. My father always said when a singer has to swallow the mic to belt out a tune there isn’t much talent there. In 12 months time we will be asking, “Lachie who?”
Don’t you mean 12 days.
Shock, Horror….. Australians voted for the white male ex footy player. Why am I surprised.
Hes so hot i cant get over it lol i hope he does okay unlike every other contestant.. unlikely
