New producer for Carols in the Domain

Former Seven Network Exec becomes Co-Executive Producer of Carols at activeTV.

Former Seven Network production exec, Lisa Fitzpatrick has been appointed Co-Executive Producer for the 40th Anniversary Edition of Carols in the Domain by activeTV.

Previously Seven’s Network Production Executive for five years, she replaces Shauna Kane, who served as producer and EP for a remarkable 20 years.

“We thank Shauna so much for her extraordinary contribution to Carols over two decades and wish her nothing but the very best,” activeTV President and Executive Producer Michael McKay said, before adding “and I also want to welcome back Lisa Fitzpatrick who has returned to The Domain to oversee our biggest celebration yet”.

“I’m delighted to be working with activeTV again and Carols was always a highlight each year and one of my favourite productions, so to be here for the 40th Anniversary is really very special,” said Fitzpatrick.

She was previously with Seven for some 17 years and commissions under her watch (as Head of Program Development) included Beauty and the Geek, World’s Strictest Parents, Four Weddings, Minute to Win It, Australia’s Amazing Race and The X Factor. Lisa and her team were also instrumental in Seven’s culinary juggernaut My Kitchen Rules.

As Executive Producer Entertainment, Lisa served on Better Homes & Gardens, Dancing With The Stars, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and, of course, Carols in the Domain.

Lisa’s stint as Network Director of Development & Production at Network Ten included oversight of Masterchef, The Biggest Loser, Bondi Rescue and Offspring.

She is a recipient of “The Centenary Medal” awarded in 2001 by the Australian Federal Government for Media Contribution. She is a serving Member of Jury for the Asian Academy Creative Awards (4 years) and was an International Emmy Jury panel member in 2014.

  1. I mean, it’s very stale, sure. But, what can you do to freshen up a once a year show that’s basically people who finished in the top 10 of the Voice o X-Factor a decade ago singing Christmas songs?

  2. Hopefully this means some differences to the schedule. It’s always been the same year in year out. Bring back the Magic of Christmas days or at least that song (maybe with the 40th anniversary they could). They were good. I still remember those and they were like 20 odd years ago.
