7:30, MasterChef pip return of Ninja, Nine wins Monday.

Nine's Ninja / Wimbledon double gave it a strong Monday share, but Ninja was down on 2021 premiere.

7:30 and MasterChef Australia held back the return of Nine’s Ninja Warrior last night.

As Leigh Sales’ begins her final week 7:30 won its slot at 595,000 metro viewers then MasterChef Australia on 579,000.

Australian Ninja Warrior wasn’t far behind, premiering to 562,000, but well down from the 2021’s 795,000…. maybe we were all in lockdown back then?

Next were Australian Story (512,000) and some distance behind was Big Brother (304,000).

Later Have You Been Paying Attention? won at 569,000 and topped the demos then Four Corners (405,000), Media Watch (377,000) and Wimbledon (247,000 / 139,000).

Nine network won Monday with 29.4% then Seven 23.2%, 10 22.4%, ABC 17.3% and SBS 7.6%.

Nine News was 892,000 / 882,000 for Nine. A Current Affair won on 723,000 then Hot Seat (436,000 / 282,000).

Seven News was #1 on 924,000 / 878,000. The Chase was 541,000 / 323,000 then Home & Away (436,000). 9-1-1: Lone Star was (150,000 / 122,000).

The Project drew 440,000 / 288,000 for 10. 10 News First was 332,000 / 229,000 with Tom Gleeson: Lighten Up on 214,000.

ABC News managed 635,000. India Now! (192,000) and The Drum (181,000) followed.

On SBS it was SBS World News was 156,000 / 126,000, Saving Lives at Sea (103,000), 24 Hours in Emergency (94,000), Mastermind (83,000), and Cher & the Loneliest Elephant (71,000).

Bluey was 171,000 atop multichannels.

News Breakfast: 112,000 / 65,000

  1. I’m not surprised the initial numbers for Ninja Warrior are softer. The first few seasons were addictive but the last one in particular was a bit same old and became a turn-off. Even though there’s new hosts this time around, it doesn’t change the fact the show is super repetitive and episodes drag on way too long.
