In this four-part docu-drama series, an international team of police officers and several journalists embark on an investigation to understand the incomprehensible: the discovery of forty-eight bodies on a farm in the Swiss Alps. The victims are all part of a sect, the Order of the Solar Temple. At first, it seems that they have taken part in a death ritual. But as the case grows, no leads are ruled out.

Episode One:
5 October 1994. Switzerland is in turmoil after the discovery of forty-eight dead on a farm in Cheiry, and two burned chalets in Salvan. What all the victims have in common is that they are part of a religious sect. They seem, at first glance, to have participated in a deadly ritual. When the investigators arrive on the scene, they are horrified to find the bodies of women and children among the deceased.
