Game on in ratings week

Long-running arvo game shows floated towards the top of entertainment offerings last week.

Afternoon game shows on Seven and Nine floated towards the top of the entertainment heap last week, largely because some titles struggled with overnight audiences.

The Voice finale was the best in entertainment while Have You Been Paying Attention? led for 10.

Long-running Hot Seat was actually Nine’s best entertainment offering, while The Chase was second highest for Seven.

ABC shows also performed well last week with Hard Quiz as best in entertainment.

  1. Game shows rate well, from trivia shows like The Chase, Hot Seat etc. to the more comedy oriented panels like HYBPA?

There is demand or sufficient support for a game show channel with modern and retro game shows, like Challenge in the UK or America’s Game Show Network. It can be monetised with advertising breaks.
