Renewed: The Boys

More bad superhero fun confirmed for Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, Claudia Doumit & co.

One week after its Season 3 premiere The Boys has been renewed for a fourth season by Prime Video.

“Over the first three days of its third season, the worldwide audience for The Boys has grown by 17% from Season 2, and 234% from Season 1,” Amazon has noted.

Based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys is described as “a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good.”

The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Jensen Ackles.

A fourth season was teasted by Karl Urban in March when he indicated that he was “shooting The Boys through the end of the year,” well after production had already wrapped on Season 3.

  1. I would be interested to know what percentage of male and females viewers watch this show, I note that some on line articles say that the story telling in The Boys is deciding to go woke because there is too much male nudity and there’s the exploding penis scene. I’m not sure how any of this can be described as woke, it always has been an ‘R’ rated send up of the super hero genre which does take itself a bit too seriously sometimes; all viewers should note is that the content is R rated as is the gory, violent satire, but viewers who like the various Zombie series will be used to that, besides Antony Starr as The Homelander is the best sociopath narcissist seen on the small TV for a while and I’m a big fan of Karl Urban.
