Today’s post-Logies broadcast beats Sunrise

Viewers tune in to see how Karl shapes up and get the showbiz goss. MasterChef draws their biggest audience of the year.

In a rare Breakfast result, Today show’s post-Logies broadcast (in which viewers may have tuned in to see how well Karl Stefanovic shaped up) won its timeslot on Monday, defeating perennial competitor, Sunrise.

Today drew 213,000 in metro viewers while Sunrise was 201,000.

News Breakfast was 101,000 / 62,000 across two channels.

In primetime Have You Been Paying Attention? led entertainment at 668,000 metro viewers ahead of Four Corners (423,000) then Media Watch (361,000) and  Million Dollar Murders (236,000)

MasterChef Australia also drew its biggest audience of the year at 600,000 then 7:30 (566,000), Australian Story (491,000), Celebrity Apprentice (455,000) and Big Brother (361,000).

Nine network won Monday with 27.9% then Seven 24.8%, 10 23.2%, ABC 17.3% and SBS 6.9%.

Nine News (960,000 / 937,000) were best for Nine then A Current Affair (680,000) and Hot Seat (496,000 / 306,000).

Seven News was #1 at 982,000 / 934,000 for Seven. The Chase was 559,000 / 353,000 then Home & Away (484,000) and 9-1-1: Lonestar (155,000).

The Project drew 433,000 / 294,000 for 10 then 10 News First (305,000 / 222,000) and  The Montreal Comedy Festival (176,000).

ABC News was 619,000.  The Drum (192,000) and India Now! (133,000) followed.

On SBS it was SBS World News (153,000 / 135,000), Saving Lives At Sea (117,000), 24 Hours in Emergency (109,000), and Mastermind (72,000) .

Bluey topped multichannels at 320,000.

911: Lone Star: 420,000
Celebrity Apprentice: 718,000
HYBPA?: 775,000
Media Watch: 662,000

  1. What a powerful episode of Australian Story last night on reinventing the funeral industry. After that I went back and watched the one titled “Last Drinks” which was also fabulous.

    Shame Australian Story had its episode count reduced as we need more content like this on TV and not less.
