10 scores their best share so far in 2022

10 last night scored its best share for the survey year, only just beaten out by Nine for the night.

MasterChef Australia drew 755,000 metro viewers for the Finale, rising to 875,000 for the moment Billie McKay was announced as winner.

It easily topped entertainment and the demos -although it was down on 2021’s 824,000 / 931,000 when Justin Narayan won.

The news was not so good for the Big Brother finale at 363,000, well down on 2021’s 672,000 / 726,000 winner announced -but the show has done quite good business in BVOD where Total TV numbers are competitive.

Also in the early evening slot were Australian Ninja Warrior: Record Breakers (448,000), 7:30 (428,000), The ABC of (344,000) and Who Do You Think You Are? (331,000).

Elsewhere last night The Cheap Seats was 396,000 at 9:30pm ahead of earlier offerings Carbon: The Unauthorised Biography (189,000), a Weakest Link repeat (185,000), The Good Doctor (183,000 / 160,000) and Concorde: Secrets Behind the Crash (171,000).

Nine won Tuesday with 26.3% then 10 25.2%, Seven 24.1%, ABC 13.6% and SBS 10.8%.

Nine News drew 869,000 / 854,000 with A Current Affair at 708,000 and Hot Seat on 440,000 / 284,000.

The Project was 406,000 / 265,000 for 10. 10 News First was 317,000 / 233,000.

Seven News was #1 at 954,000 / 898,000. The Chase was 564,000 / 364,000 with Home & Away at 432,000.

ABC News was 579,000 for ABC. The Drum (160,000) followed.

SBS had a good night as an alternative, with other shows being SBS World News (165,000 / 115,000) and Tour de France (109,000).

The Adventures of Paddington topped multichannels at 126,000.
