I mentioned this in the TV Lounge page comments, but for the readers that don’t have time to go there, ABC 90 Celebrate! was too condensed and fast-paced. They had to fit so much into 2 hours when it should have gone for 4 or 5 hours. Many shows had a very fleeting mention, literally 3 seconds. When shows like Consuming Passions was mentioned, there were audible gasps of interest and surprise from the audience. But it was over in a flash in 3 seconds and they moved on to the next show. It didn’t do many shows justice or gravitas that was needed.
Otherwise some great memories, great history and a few moments that became too much for me emotionally.
The ABC is 90 today. Happy Birthday ABC. Loved the celebration show last night. If it wasn’t for our national broadcaster and SBS I probably would not watch much FTA tv.
