Last ever season of Arthur to screen

Season 25, the final for much-loved aardvark Arthur, airs in August on PBS Kids.

It will be the end of an era when Season 25, the last ever series of Arthur, screens next month.

The pre-school animation is longest-running animated series in the U.S., second only to The Simpsons.

The show is based on the children’s books by author / illustrator Marc Brown, who has been working with the beloved aardvark for over 40 years.

Born one night when Brown was telling a bedtime story to his son, Arthur soon evolved into the book Arthur’s Nose, published in 1976 – and then into television, movies, audio books, music CDs, apps, and more.

Arthur chronicles the adventures of eight-year-old Arthur through engaging, emotional stories that explore issues faced by real kids, telling these stories from a kid’s point of view without moralising or talking down.

It wrapped in the US in February.

Tuesday 2 – Friday 5 August at 4pm on PBS Kids (Foxtel Channel 719).

  1. I’m really sad about this 🙁 My brother and I loved this show as kids growing up, and I just had the pleasure of introducing my niece to it. Luckily she’ll have 33 seasons to enjoy over time anyway
