Block-buster series ahead for Nine

Tree Change season dominates in its second outing. HYBPA? and Commonwealth Games also draw the crowds.

Based on early numbers for The Block: Tree Change, Nine has a bumper season ahead across Q3 and Q4.

Last night the reno series drew 835,000 metro viewers as contestants walked off the show.

That defeated Back Roads (485,000), 7:30 (477,000) and The Masked Singer‘s 455,000 (rising to 605,000 for the Caterpillar revealed) and double MKR at 408,000.

Later Have You Been Paying Attention? was 569,000 then Emergency (390,000), Media Watch (363,000) and Four Corners (356,000).

Commonwealth Games coverage drew 445,000 / 349,000 / 262,000 plus 7mate coverage topped multichannels at 282,000.

Seven network still won Monday at 32.3% then Nine 28.9%, 10 18.6%, ABC 14.6% and SBS 5.6%.

Seven News was #1 at 1.01m / 998,000.. The Chase drew 571,000 / 349,000. Home & Away was 451,000.

Nine News was 906,000 / 861,000. A Current Affair won at 714,000 then Hot Seat (397,000 / 267,000). Across the network were Footy Classified (122,000) and 100% Footy (41,000).

The Project drew 391,000 / 231,000 for 10. 10 News First was 316,000 / 178,000. Just for Laughs Australia was also 178,000.

ABC News pulled 622,000. The Drum (152,000) and China Tonight (139,000) followed.

SBS had a low night with SBS World News (121,000 / 98,000), The Queen’s Guard: A Year in Service (78,000), Saving Lives at Sea and 24 Hours in Emergency (both 72,000). The Cook Up with Adam Liaw was 35,000.

  1. Frankie the dog was the best part of The Block last night when that pic of the Blockheads above was taken. She kept wanting the boys to throw the stick at their feet for her. Really cute. I hope the boys win it!
