  1. I know how the nominations work, but I’m going to rhetorically ask anyway:
If Bartlett, Lacy, Zahn, Coolidge, Daddario, Britton, Rothwell & Sweeney were all “supporting” actors, who exactly were they “supporting”!?
I think at some point a line has to be drawn… and Bartlett (along with either Coolidge or Britton) were clearly lead actors.

    1. Either that or the provision is there. The accolade itself could encourage sketch comedy to be made and could have more nominees in the future. Though two nominees isn’t great and maybe they could have found more shows to include.

      1. I looked it up. 9 shows were submitted for nomination in the sketch category. Emmy rules state that where the number of nominations for a category is between 1-19 contenders, a sliding scale is used to determine the final number of nominees permitted. So 9 submissions results in 2 nominees. Categories with 240+ submitted contenders are permitted 8 nomination slots. Simple!

  2. Good to see that Julia Garner got an award, her performance in Ozark was consistent throughout the whole series and in my opinion her fearless character portrayal made the final season a lot more watchable, as the shows plot threads were systematically and predictably concluded.

  3. Though some I wanted to win didn’t win, I can’t really disagree with the other wins as well. For example would have loved to see Rhea Seehorn win for Better Call Saul as she deserves that recognition. However can’t argue against Julia Garner getting the nod for Ozark, that’s well deserved as well and tremendous actor. Julia has been great in so many shows, Waco, The Americans, Inventing Anna to name 3, not that Rhea hasn’t either loved her in Veep as well.

Great wins for White Lotus and timely as well seeing Season 2 (In Sicily) is slated to start in October, really looking forward to it, TV really is in a good place right now, so many great shows to watch.

  4. good win for Michael Keaton for Dopesick but i can’t believe Sarah Paulson did not win for Impeachment, she was incredible in that. role However perhaps i’m not being totally fair as i have not seen the Dropout nor the other shows in that category.
