AFL Finals storms Thursday night for Seven

A nail-biting AFL match gave Seven a huge share, sending other shows down -resulting in Sammy J. outranking some of TV's biggest acts.

On Thursday night there was AFL -and then there was daylight.

Seven drew a huge 39.3% share which will likely help them to snatch the week from Nine.

A nail-biting game pulled a huge 786,000 metro viewers, including topping multichannels, leaving all entertainment shows in its wake.

Warning, very low numbers ahead….. leading to the unusual case of Sammy J (304,000) outranking some of TV’s biggest acts.

7:30 drew 382,000 then Foreign Correspondent (244,000) and Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod (240,000)

Later Gogglebox settled for a soft 381,000 with Q+A down to 165,000 then Sacred Scotland (113,000).

Thursday Night NRL could not compete with AFL at 366,000.

Seven network easily won Thursday with 39.3% then Nine 24.6%, 10 15.2%, ABC 13.7% and SBS 7.2%.

Seven News was #1 with 825,000 / 825,000 for Seven. The Chase won with 464,000 / 304,000. Home & Away was 280,000 across the network. In select cities Ambulance: Code Red was 65,000.

Nine News (744,000 / 738,000) was best for Nine then A Current Affair (511,000) and Hot Seat (362,000 / 208,000).

The Project was just 267,000 / 189,000 then 10 News First (247,000 / 139,000). The Cheap Seats replay was  160,000.

ABC News managed 556,000 for ABC. The Drum (179,000) and America Divided (106,000) followed.

On SBS it was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys (119,000), SBS World News (117,000 / 108,000), Suspect (58,000) and The Cook Up with Adam Liaw (43,000).

Today Extra: 113,000 / 62,000

In Total TV numbers last Thursday were:

Gogglebox: 822,000
Home & Away: 754,000
The Front Bar: 486,000

    I recorded last night Home and away on seven for 3 episodes but I went to watch it and the AFL was on ….instead did they show 3 episodes on seven two or was it just the one last night on thanks for you help
