SBS has created a pop-up store in Pitt Street Mall to promote the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale.

The activation opposite Myer features a series of mannequins dressed as handmaids. One token handmaid can also be spotted keeping watc of the activation and passersby – Praise Be!

The concept has been inspired by a quote from the series: ‘They should have never given us uniforms if they didn’t want us to be an army.’

Back in 2018 SBS had a similar stunt with Handmaids hitting the streets of Sydney and interrupting a Gender Studies 101 lecture at Sydney University.

Sydney residents can it check out until Sunday 25th September.

The first two episode of Season Five ar now on SBS On Demand.

Weekly episodes will drop at 9.30pm on SBS on Thursdays from 22 September to 10 November and will also be available on SBS On Demand.
