The Truth Hurts
For forty long years, every time Chris Dawson looked into the eyes of his two daughters he was reinforcing an elaborate and evil lie about their mother, Lynette Dawson, who vanished in 1982. He brainwashed the children, saying she’d run away because she didn’t love them. They grew up with broken hearts. But as the world now knows, this deception was just another example of Chris Dawson’s cruelty. The truth is he murdered his wife so he could shack up with a 17-year-old school student. In an exclusive interview on 60 Minutes, Shanelle Dawson reveals what she remembers about the night her mother went missing, and tells Tom Steinfort about her continuing torment – having one parent killed in cold blood and the other likely to die in prison.

Return to Bali
It’s not difficult to know why Australians love holidaying in Bali. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Next Wednesday though marks 20 years since that awful night when Bali’s popularity turned into a deadly curse. Terrorists detonated two bombs at two packed nightclubs. A total of 202 people including 88 Australians were killed. Young Geelong nurse Therese Fox was among those horrifically injured: 85 per cent of her body was burnt. In fact, her very survival is considered miraculous. Therese has never spoken publicly about her remarkable battle to live, but on 60 Minutes she courageously returns to Bali to put demons to rest and to honour her best friend who tragically died in the terrorist attack.
