Bumped: The Real Love Boat

Last week Ed Kavalee joked on Have You Been Paying Attention? that The Real Love Boat was “soon to be bumped to a later timeslot.”

After two poorly received episodes, that’s just what’s happened.

Next week 10 screens:

Wednesday
7:30pm The Real Dog House rpt
8:30pm The Real Love Boat
10pm My Life is Murder

Thursday
7:30pm Gogglebox
8:30pm The Real Love Boat
9:30pm TBA (possibly a Cheap Seats replay?)

The switch comes after disappointing debut numbers of just 215,000 and 174,000 metro viewers.

It also comes just a day after Paramount Upfronts in which the show was announced as returning, and a big push from execs on stage.

It remains to be seen how much the show may lift in Total TV numbers, but with Princess Cruises as a sponsor it’s likely the show was given few seasons commitment.

  5. Somebody get the lifeboats! This boat is heading for 100k overnight viewers and is destined capsize somewhere in late nights in Ten’s Ocean’ or will it make it to Port quick enough to arrive on 10 Peach Island.

  6. All TV channels think we public want a reality show at 7.30pm. Truth is we are turning to streaming services to watch something else, perhaps a drama series or movie. To move ‘My life is Murder’ puts a death sentence on its performance. Move to Peach or Bold to give it a fighting chance.

  7. I wish they would stick to a consistent timeslot for Gogglebox. Getting sick of chasing it around the schedule. I refuse to use 10 play. Get the same 5 ads every three minutes… absolute nightmare.

  8. When will TEN’s very patient and forgiving ( or perhaps unseeing ) CBS overlords in the US of A realise that the blustering and BS-ing TEN management team doesn’t really have a clue ? I think Skippy could programme the network far better , even though he/she has been dead for 50 years.

  13. Love the setting definitely, but probably be better if it had a bachelorette and bachelor, and a group of guys and girls vying to be their true matches. In between you could have both the bachelorette and bachelor having breakfast, dinner or lunch each day (mix it up) to exchange notes about how each other’s search for love is going. You could also put some of their friends in there secretly to see what they think too. The list goes on. Like the compare and crew too. They really good!

  14. What’s happend to law and order svu… haven’t finished last season… all encores should go to other bold … thecway ten has treated svu is appealing either lift ur game or move it to wendsday and get rid of bull

I use IMBd app, season 23 finished on episode 22, season 24 started in the US on 22/9 episode 1 is the second part of a previous episode titled “Gimme Shelter Part 2”, I am waiting for it to drop on Ten too but I’m not holding my breath because they will probably hold it over till 2023. Not sue though what episode of Season 24 Kellie Giddish leaves though. Hope this helps

  16. Seems strange to have bumped my life is murder to 10pm because of it, why not give that the 7.30 slot, who is going to hang round till 10pm these days of instant streaming etc.

  18. Didn’t Yasmin’s Getting Married get higher ratings? LOL hahaha. The one thing that could save it if they have managed to sell this to overseas markets as well. I know USA have their own version

    1. That show in 2006 rated much higher than TRLB. It started off with 790k but ratings fell until the 5th and final episode. Unfortunately, they had to cancel YGM because it isn’t sustainable in its 7pm time slot. Hence YGM was replaced by repeats of Futurama.

      1. In the words of the great David Tench, 10 must love their mini-series like Yasmin’s Getting Married and The Real Love Boat (remembered that joke from David Tench Tonight about Yasmin’s Getting Married).
