“I’ve had to remind myself that it’s TV, and I’m a character.”

A common complaint by reality contestants rears its head in an interview around Farmer Wants a Wife.

Farmer Wants a Wife participant Jess Cova, 26, who is one of Farmer Will’s remaining two ladies has spoken about select editing on the Seven series.

She told Sunday Confidential the show has portrayed her as not wanting to relocate to be with Will Simpson, but this was nt correct.

A discussion about her relocating and taking him to visit her grandmother in Italy, did not make the final cut of a ‘glamping’ episode.

“Sadly, they did not show much of it. I think that’s how editing goes, for how they want to portray their storylines,” Cova (pictured left) said.

She also referred to ‘frankengrab’ edits in which quotes were laid over other scenes.

“The relationship we were building at the time is so much stronger than what they’ve portrayed,” she said.

“But they’ve got to keep viewers guessing. It’s very bizarre. I’ve had to remind myself that it’s TV, and I’m a character.”

In recent weeks Seven confirmed some farms used ‘stand-ins’ due to difficulties impacted by the pandemic. Two other farmers, Benjamin and Paige, also departed.

Nevertheless the show has largely held for Seven and is calling for 2023 contestants.

A finale airs tonight on Seven with a reunion tomorrow night.
