  1. Not surprised in a way. Golf is a pretty big commitment for 4 days and isn’t in prime time either so its a lot of resources and it’s good it’s on FTA for those who watch. Most things are behind a paywall these days. Plus Seven stumped up for the AFL so probably reallocating its funds so it can have a shot at the next Commonwealth Games and Olympics rights as they are in Australia plus we know they want out of the cricket deal to focus on the next Aus Open Tennis deal. I love them saying 9NOW is the best free destination though 😂 Can’t help but laugh at that. Its nothing but glitchy and that platform frustrates me sometimes. You’ll be watching a show and literally mid scene you will get a random ad.

  2. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the ratings. Normally golf is typically be played during the daytime. However, golf doesn’t generate very high ratings during the daytime – this may lead to other factors like school, work, or other family commitments.

  3. I thought seven had these. I gather it’s not cheap to telecast golf and the ratings (which are mostly / completely) are not prime time (and mostly during the Summer / non ratings) must make the economics challenging.
