Outback Wrangler Matt Wright has had his bail extended today at Darwin Local Court after seven charges in relation to an alleged conspiracy surrounding the fatal chopper crash which claimed the life of his friend, Chris “Willow” Wilson.

The 34-year-old co-star was killed during a crocodile egg collecting expedition along King River in a remote area of West Arnhem Land. He was dangling from a sling when the helicopter crashed on February 28.

Nine months after the crash, Wright was charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, destroying evidence and fabricating evidence relating to the fatal chopper crash.

He was also charged with unlawfully entering a building, unlawfully entering a dwelling and making a false declaration.

Police also charged Wright with making threats or reprisals to interfere with witnesses involved in a criminal investigation.

Wright was silent as he was bombarded with questions as he left the court thronged by media.

His lawyer, David Newey said his client continued to “strenuously deny” the charges.

The family of Wilson have also asked Netflix to cease broadcasting Wild Croc Territory.

“It pains me greatly that the series is still being shown despite the serious allegations that have been made against an individual involved in the series,” said his widow, Danielle.

“To that end, I would request that Netflix immediately cease showing, promoting or advertising the series from its programming schedule until such a time that all court proceeding in relation to the tragic death of my husband have been finalised.”

Both Outback Wrangler and Wild Croc Territory have previously aired on Nine.

The hearing will continue on January 25, for a preliminary examination mention.
