Airdate: Christmas with the Salvos

Ray Meagher, The Wiggles and James Tobin help spread Christmas charity in a new special.

For the third year running, Christmas with the Salvos will screen on Seven.

Salvos ambassador Ray Meagher features along with The Wiggles and Weekend Sunrise weather presenter, James Tobin.

“I’ve been an ambassador for The Salvos for many years now, and in that time, I’ve seen the extraordinary work they do. I’ve had the privilege of visiting many of their centres and seeing their work with youth, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and homelessness,” said Ray Meagher.

“Remember The Salvation Army is here for you this Christmas, so if you need a hand please reach out and know you’re not alone.”
The special highlights the inspirational work of The Salvos across country, showcasing stories from work done in homelessness, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, natural disaster recovery and their key Christmas outreach through the distribution of toys, hampers and community meals.

Red Wiggle Simon Pryce added, “If you are needing help, The Salvos are great place to go and also if you have the ability to donate some money, it’s a great Appeal. Particularly around Christmas, when people are doing it tough not just with the floods but all across Australia, so it’s a great chance to help them through The Salvation Army.”

‘Christmas with the Salvos’ coincides with The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal, which aims to raise $23 million to ensure that Aussies doing it tough can get the support they need this Christmas.

At Christmas time, The Salvos distribute hundreds of thousands of gifts and toys, over 64,000 hampers and over 130,000 meals to those who are struggling during the Christmas period, all of which cannot happen without the generosity of the Australian public.

  1. Yes why not run this in prime time ? 7 or 7.30 PM Friday or Saturday after the news would be perfect – there won’t be many viewing around at midday on Saturday.
Great that Seven produced this special free of charge as a special gift for The Salvos , one of Australia’s most deserving charities.
Well I’m sure they did, right ?
