Returning: Christmas with the Salvos

Christmas with the Salvos returns to Seven for a fourth year aiming to bring much needed hope and joy to Aussies around the country.

This year’s special is hosted by Weekend Sunrise presenters, Sally Bowrey and James Tobin.

“It’s an honour to be supporting The Salvation Army this Christmas, because they do such vital work for so many people in need. Seeing the incredible work they do in the community, but also know personally from The Salvos helping my own family – it can really change your life,” said host Sally Bowrey.

“This Christmas, remember The Salvation Army is here for you. So, if you or a loved one are in need of any help, please reach out to The Salvos and know you’re not alone,” said host James Tobin.

Also featuring are Salvation Army ambassador Samantha Jade and chef Gary Mehigan, Salvos Stores sustainable stylist Faye Delanty, and a special performance from Home and Away‘s Matt Evans.

“I’ve been a proud ambassador of The Salvos for many years and being able to witness the hope and joy they bring, especially during Christmas, is truly inspiring. This cause holds a special place in my heart, and it’s a great time to give back to those who need it most,” said Samantha Jade.

The special highlights the incredible work of The Salvos across the country, showcasing stories from work done in aged care, youth centres, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and key Christmas outreach through the distribution of toys, hampers and community meals.

‘Christmas with the Salvos’ coincides with The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal, which is currently aiming to raise $25 million to help ensure that nobody struggles alone this Christmas.

At Christmas time, The Salvos distribute tens of thousands of food hampers, over 250,000 gifts and toys and over 132,000 meals to those who are doing it tough during the Christmas period, all of which could not happen without the generosity of the Australian public.
