E! to leave Foxtel & Fetch in February

18 years on Foxtel will come to an end as content moves to 7Bravo.

E! channel will be exiting both Foxtel and Fetch platforms in February after NBCU’s deal for 7Bravo channel -but the deal will put content into the Free to Air domain.

Reader Daran wrote in the TV Lounge earlier this week, “Just received an email saying 7Bravo will be a new Multi Channel starting Jan 15 as the E! Network will be leaving Fetch.”

A spokesperson told TV Tonight, “The E! Entertainment channel will cease broadcasting on Foxtel and Fetch from February 1, 2023. We are excited that the very best, premiere content from E! will be coming to 7Bravo in Australia.”

7Bravo launches on January 15 with US reality, entertainment and true crime content.

Amongst the unscripted titles are Real Girlfriends In Paris, Southern Hospitality and Love Without Borders.

True crime content is from Oxygen, while The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show, and awards shows feature with Live From E!

Seven Chief Content Officer, Entertainment Programming, Angus Ross told TV Tonight, “In some ways it’s a female version of 7mate in terms of its demographic richness for under 50.”

Also due are Below Deck Down Under (S1), Below Deck Adventure, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip (S1), The Real Housewives of Dubai, The Real Housewives of Miami, and Judge Jerry.

E! has been part of Foxtel since 2004 focussed on entertainment and particularly Live red carpet events.

  1. I very seldom watch E!, but it’s a good option to have at least. Does anyone know what it will be replaced with? Surely they should offer a small discount if there is one less channel.

    1. Always complain with Foxtel. I certainly do. I’ve had an issue with their remote record app (My Foxtel) since August and because I complained it wasn’t working properly I was given 12 months free subscription on the Premium Movie and Drama package till September 2023. Because it’s been an ongoing issue for several months now last week they added the Sports package for free as well. I believe it’s the only way to keep big companies “in line” by complaining because most people simply don’t bother and they know that. I’ve no doubt they will eventually do a deal and come up with another channel like they did with the wrestling channel WWE (144).

  2. Had Foxtel since 1995, seen some good channels come and go but this one is a good thing it’s going. There’s only so much Kardashians, Tyler Henry, the Jonas and the like a person can stomach. I’ve no doubt Foxtel will eventually rearrange the deckchairs again and bung more similar shows to these on their other channels just to “fill in” the Essentials/Plus package.

  3. I’ve had Foxtel for decades and didn’t even realise this was a channel. It must be between channels 121 & 143, which get very little viewing in our household.

  4. E! never really had a hit show apart from The Kardashians, and once that left for Disney, the channel has largely been reruns of Kardashians. Its never great to see a channel close, but this one is no great surprise and I’m not sure it is a huge loss.

  5. For me this is no great loss, I’ve rarely watched E!, and when I have, I have noticed it’s had terrible picture quality like the old days of ABC2. I’ll be reassessing my Foxtel subscription in the new year. I received an email at the start of this year telling me that my package has been changed due to their package structure changes, and that my monthly cost will increase by $10, however they will delay the price rise for 12 months. With the fact that HD is still limited to a tiny selection of entertainment channels, and still a $10 surcharge (which I refuse to pay) for non-movie and sport customers, Foxtel is showing its unwillingness to be competitive.

    1. I my opinion Foxtel subscribers should be seriously reassessing their viewing needs as most of Foxtel’s premium content can be purchased when needed on Binge and Kayo. NBCU and E! Channel have probably made a wise business decision transferring to 7Bravo.

    2. Or just call them up. Say you wanna quit and they’ll offer a good deal. I keep Foxtel for 4k and am currently on a deal which is $37.50 cheaper than advertised prices.
