Magic Millions events rescheduled

Events halted last Saturday due to wet weather to be staged on Thursday afternoon.

Due to wet weather and poor visibility following the opening two races on Saturday afternoon, Seven will now broadcast the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas, on Thursday afternoon.

Seven’s live coverage from the Gold Coast Turf Club begins at 3.00pm AEDT anchored by Bruce McAvaney, joined on the Gold Coast by Seven commentary team, including Emma Freedman and Lizzie Jelfs.

The $2 million 2YO Classic is the highlight of the meet, headlining Seven’s 90-minute broadcast.

The Snowden team have a strong hand with Empire of Japan and unbeaten Sovereign Fund their leading contenders in the race. The powerhouse of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott are looking to extend their lead of Magic Millions wins with their golden girl, Platinum Jubilee. Skirt The Law will be flying the Queensland flag for her all-female ownership group, with their eyes on the coveted Racing Women’s Bonus.

Another highlight is the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas for three-year-olds. King Of The Mountain conqueror, Yellow Brick will start as one of the favourites in the event, with the home state hero’s main competition expected to come from Sydney raider, Russian Conquest and last start Rising Stars winner, Spiritualised.

Thursday’s Magic Millions Raceday is the culmination of a huge fortnight on the Gold Coast with coverage of last week’s Magic Millions yearling sales also available on 7plus.

Sports fans can strap themselves in for an epic weekend of sport on Seven, featuring the 2023 Santos Tour Down Under, the Big Bash League, Women’s One Day International cricket against Pakistan and the NFL.
