He may have been advanced in years and lived a long life but when you consider the sheer diversity of stars Burt Bacharach worked with through the years, from Tom Jones to Cilla Black, to Dusty Springfield and Dionne Warwick, to name just a few, his death marks the end of an era and is a huge loss to the entertainment industry.
So many classic songs.
Could 10 replay this? Burt was a great composer! He also appeared in The Nanny. It would be wonderful for rage to do a tribute on him.
Hi David I know this is slightly adjacent but I’m so glad you posted this as I loved “the big night in with John Foreman” which ran for two seasons from 2005-2006 it was super irreverant at times but let the musicians breathe and talk. I was devastated when they cancelled it as it was before things would go “viral” otherwise now it would probably attract a decent audience even at the time they aired it (around 11.30pm usually). I was only 18 at the time so forgive me if I’m wrong about anything but this interview reminded me it was around the time he filmed the 2nd season too. Hope you remember it in some way! So thanks for posting this flashback!
I sure do…. I was in the studio when John helped push a project of mine.
